e-Grantz 3.0 Kerala Scholarship: Eligibility, Income Limit, Required Documents & Akshaya Registration
What is e-Grantz 3.0 in Kerala?
e-Grantz 3.0 is the comprehensive scholarship and financial assistance portal administered by the Scheduled Castes Development Department and Scheduled Tribes Development Department of Kerala. It ensures direct benefit transfer (DBT) of tuition fee reimbursements, exam fee exemptions, and monthly pocket money / boarding grants directly into the bank accounts of underprivileged students pursuing post-matric education (Plus Two, ITI, Diploma, Degree, PG, MBBS, Engineering, and PhD courses).
Category-Wise Income Limits & Eligibility
- SC / ST Students: NO income ceiling. All bonafide SC and ST students enrolled in recognized courses in government, aided, or approved self-financing institutions are eligible for full fee concession and boarding allowances.
- OEC (Other Eligible Communities): NO income limit for fee concessions in government / aided colleges. For self-financing fee reimbursement, specific government guidelines apply.
- OBC & General Economically Backward Students: Annual parental income must not exceed ₹1,00,000 (One Lakh Rupees) for general higher secondary / degree courses, or ₹2,50,000 for specific professional degree programs.
Checklist of Documents Required at Akshaya
- Aadhaar Card: Must be linked to an active bank account (Aadhaar Seeding / NPCI Mapping).
- Caste / Community Certificate: Issued through e-District portal within the last 3 years.
- Income Certificate: Issued by the Village Officer showing annual family income (mandatory for OBC / EWS applicants).
- Nationalized / Scheduled Bank Passbook: Account must be in student's sole name with IFSC code clearly printed.
- College / Institution Allotment Memo & Admission Receipt: Stating course name, fee structure, and date of admission.
- SSLC Book / Plus Two Marklist: For academic credential verification.
Important Note on Bank Account Seeding (NPCI)
Over 80% of e-Grantz scholarship delays occur because the student's bank account is not mapped to the NPCI Aadhaar Payment Bridge (APB). Before submitting your application at Akshaya, verify at your bank branch that your savings account is active and seeded for direct government DBT credits.
